Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection foundation - the verdict

As I mentioned in my Project 10 Pan post, the foundation I am trying to use up is this, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation.  It claims to last for 16 hours, and is oil-free with SPF 20.  I seem to remember that the inclusion of a high SPF was what attracted me to this product when I got it as part of a 3 for 2 offer at Superdrug about 6 months ago.  I have been diligently wearing this every day for the last week but I have finally thrown in the towel.  I just hate it.  The colour's fine, but I find that it doesn't give good coverage and somehow manages to make my skin shiny and dry at the same time after it's been on for 3 or 4 hours.  Really disappointed, mainly because this no longer qualifies for my Project 10 Pan, which is going well.  Annyoingly, I'll be chucking out a practically full bottle of this.

Pretty much the only positive thing I can say about this is that I like the packaging - the heavy glass bottle makes it feel like a higher quality product than it actually is.  I think, despite having oily/combination skin, oil-free foundations just aren't right for me, as they always make my face patchy and dry, and seem to make them even more oily.  Which is bizarre, and not what I want from a product at all.  This review from PinkSeaLight is basically the opposite of my findings with this foundation, which just goes to show that different things work very differently for different people!

  1. I bought this as i'd run out of foundation and saw it in Superdrug for £4. 'This will tide me over for a while' I thought.
I really liked the glass bottle, and it felt nice on my skin. My boyfriend later told me once i'd stopped using it that I looked 'a bit shiny'..yeah thanks for telling me!

The reason I stopped using it was the pump broke. I pushed the top down and it stopped there :(
I returned it and got a replacement, and 2 days later it did the same thing again. So it's gone into the draw for when I can't find any other foundations on the quick and have to undo it and use my fingers :(
