Rimmel Lash Accelorator vs Revlon Grow Luscious: THE FINAL VERDICT

So, it's been just over five months since I first tried the Revlon Grow Luscious and Rimmel Lash Accelerator mascaras, both of which claim to promote lash growth and thickness.  I used one mascara on each eye every day for three months (or there abouts, until they dried out) and this is what my lashes looked like after the trial.

Hmm...have a look at the original post.  I actually think my lashes were thicker before I started using these mascaras.  I didn't like either of them as products anyway, and found I lost quite a few lashes (more than usual) during the trial.  This might have been coincidence though.

Here they are with the mascara applied, Rimmel on the left (as you see it), Revlon on the right.

The Revlon Grow Luscious offers more length and volume overall, but there's not much difference between them.  One thing I did find, which bugged me a lot, was that the Rimmel Lash Accelerator is quite fibrous, and I'd often get bits of mascara in my eye when I applied it.  Not cool.

Overall, not a resounding success.  I wouldn't buy either of these mascaras again, but I know the Rimmel Lash Accelerator is quite popular.  Just not in this household.

  1. Thanks for the review, so many products that are hyped up leave me disapointed as well xx

  2. I had the same problem with the Revlon one - my lashes actually looked less full a month later.

I'm sticking with normal mascara and if I need a boost, I'll wear falsies!

  3. Thanks for this post,
I really like the Rimmel one, but have the same problem as you-I always end up with more in my eye than on my lashes overall, and it flakes SO badly! Its a real shame because I really like how it makes them look to start with.
