I've been meaning to write this post for ages but never seem to get round to it; what great housekeeping!  I just wanted to draw your attention to a few bits and pieces and have a little chat.  I never do that so I shall break the habit of a blogging lifetime and have a small ramble.

I haven't blogged much of late and I now have a constant nagging guilt dragging around after me, which is silly really because I do this for fun and in my spare time and it's only me doing it so I don't have to answer to anybody as to why I haven't blogged.  Well, for the most part.  I'm enormously fortunate and get sent some beautiful products by PR companies, and whilst they never explicitly demand coverage on here, I absolutely owe it to them to feature their products in some way or another so I suppose I do have a small obligation to blog.  However, ultimately it's my blog and if I want or don't want to write about something, it's totally my prerogative (can't say that without then getting major earworm all day long).

Anyway, the reason I haven't blogged much is basically that I just haven't really felt like it.  I've been really busy recently both at work and out of work and I don't always have the time, inclination or sober...ness to sit down and edit pictures and write engaging content when I get home in the evening.  I've never been great at scheduling posts in advance because I prefer to write about something at the very moment I want to write about it.  I think I'm a better writer when I'm in the zone and feeling the flow and all that jazz.  If I'm not excited or disappointed with a product RIGHT NOW then I don't really want to write about it.

So, in summary, I basically write want I want, when I want to write it.  So there.

However, just because I'm not always blogging, doesn't mean I'm not actively involved in the online beauty community all the time.  I hang out on Twitter a lot - do join me - and I've also become slightly obsessed with Pinterest - again, join me - both of which are marvellous time vacuums but also an incredibly rich source of news, other blogs, general discussion, moronic chat, beautiful images and fabulous ideas.  You can also follow me and read my posts via Hello Cotton (what does that actually mean?) and Bloglovin' or you can subscribe via email, over in the right-hand column, and have my inane musings specially delivered by technical wizards to your inbox.  How nice.

Um...what else can I tell you?  At the top of the page there's a couple (three, to be exact) tabs, which will tell you all about what products I consider to be must-haves, a few of my favourite blogs and also a bit about me and the kind of things I like.  Click and read, people.  Click and read.

That's about it really.  On the left-hand side you'll see a few buttons for causes I wholly support.  Give and Make Up in  particular is an amazing initiative set up by Caroline to provide daily essentials to women suffering as a result of domestic violence.  A fully deserving cause, I think you'll all agree, so go take a look and find out how you can help.

I think that's all for now.  I'll leave you with a picture of the sunset near my house.  It's my favourite time of day.
