I thought I'd do a little insight into my likes and dislikes in terms of beauty products. A smorgasbord of my beauty tastes, if you will.
I am 28, I live in London, and by day work as a Project Manager for a creative agency. I only write about products I buy and like - unless I've made a spendy error, in which case, I will be honest (and possibly a bit sweary).
Products and brands I like:
Nail polish: OPI, Essie, Butter London, Models Own and Zoya are my preferred brands. Colour-wise, nudes are my favourite. I also love dark blues and purples, all reds, hot pinks and oranges, and metallics. I am not a fan of greens, yellows, duochromes or glitter polishes.
Face: I have oily skin, so am always on the lookout for mattifying and pore-minimizing products (La Roche Posay usually does the trick) and I prefer mineral powder foundation to liquid or cream. Laura Mercier is the best. By far.
Blusher: Boring, frankly. Mac Instant Chic sees me through, day in, day out.
Eyeshadow: Bobbi Brown, Sleek, Mac, Models Own, Une Beauty, Bourjois, Barry M, Inglot...I love eyeshadows; my preferred colours are grey taupes, inky blues, cool-toned golds and forest greens. UPDATE: since I dyed my hair red, I can't wear any of these colours any more. Which is annoying. Now I flit between Bobbi Brown Wheat and Revlon Rich Sable.
Mascara: Is my favourite beauty product. My two favourites are firmly at either end of the spectrum - YSL Faux Cils and Miss Sporty XXLong. Anything that doesn't result in spidery lashes or clumps is good by me. Always black though. That is non-negotiable.
Lips: I live for tinted lip balms and lip stains and bright red lipstick. Revlon basically wins everything.
I don't do bronzer.
That is all.
PRs: I will happily devour press releases and samples of new or classic products but please do take two minutes to read the above so you can make sure you are sending me something suitable. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
